Consultancy Services For Supervision of Integrated Feeder Roads Development Project (IFRDP)
The IFRDP aims to improve mobility in rural areas of Zambézia Province by rehabilitating and maintaining approximately 759 km of rural roads across seven districts. These improvements support local agriculture and livelihoods by reducing transportation costs along key national corridors. The IFRDP key objectives are:
- Rehabilitation of roads with improved drainage systems to ensure climate resilience and ease of maintenance
- Construction or repair of maintenance base camps
- Training and supervising contractors over 24 months to ensure road conditions are maintained and handed over to the National Road Administration (ANE) with an operational maintenance system

- • Road condition assessments and inspections of rural roads and bridges<br> Project supervision, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards
- • Development of technical standards for road maintenance and construction
- • Contractor training on low-volume rural road maintenance using labor-based methods
- • HIV/AIDS prevention compliance monitoring during project execution
The Second Component concerns the supervision of the rehabilitation of 70 km of primary roads, namely N10 from Quelimane to Nicoadala and N1 from Nicoadala to Namacurra. This phase involves road safety improvements, surface rehabilitation, and culvert construction under a "Design, Build, Maintain, and Transfer" (DBMT) model.
SWMoz’s services include monitoring civil works, quality assurance, design reviews, and ensuring contractual compliance during both the rehabilitation and maintenance phases.
