Mecutuchi

This work was part of the contract for the rehabilitation of the N1 road on the Namialo – Rio Lúrio section in the province of Nampula. Among others, the bridge of the Mecutuchi river benefited from a widening to 11.00 m in a total extension of 140.5 m composed of several arches of reinforced concrete supported on simple concrete pillars.The work consisted of:

• • Excavation for and construction of foundations of encounters on both sides of existing ones
• • Construction of new joints and sealing of cracks in the part of the concrete bridge
• • Light weight concrete filling between the arches and installation of iron anchors
• • Construction of New Jersey Barriers
• • Double surface coating over the deck slab
